Date Lines: Communication From “Hello” to “I Do” and Everything In Between
By Nina Atwood

Finally, help has arrived for all the tongue-tied couples on first dates, from the love-struck guy who aches to tell the beautiful girl he's sitting across from how he feels but doesn't want to scare her off after the third date, to the single mom who's falling in love for the first time in years but can't find a good way to tell him she doesn't want more children. From the author of Be Your Own Dating Service comes a one-of-a-kind communication guide that coaches singles through every major conversation that they are likely to have, from the first "hello" to talks on You and Me, money, sex, children, marriage, straight through to ending a relationship or proceeding down the aisle to "I do."

The dating crowd loves Nina Atwood's advice! Maybe that's because, unlike other authors, she does not encourage strategizing and the use of specific techniques to win over a desired partner. Instead, she focuses on the process of dating itself and teaches singles how to make this time of their lives fulfilling, whatever their long-term relationship goals may be. Upbeat and filled with practical suggestions, Date Lines empowers its readers to be their best possible true selves while practicing the skills needed for connection and love.

What readers have to say:

What an excellent book, and a refreshing look at dating
I found this book to be an amazing guide towards looking at the art of dating from the perspective of doing right for yourself and going through the proper steps to finding out who is right for you as well as handle people who aren't right for you. I reread Atwood's 2 dating books every few months to get centered to see if I am on the right track with whomever I'm dating. I even ordered a second set of Atwoods books just in case I lose a set. If you really are serious about healthy dating and finding the right woman or man, this is the book for you. If you are looking for a book on how to get laid or deceive someone, look elsewhere. This is a book for serious daters, not playboys and playgirls. There is no other dating book I've read other than Atwoods Date Lines and Be Your Own Dating Service that I'd recommend, and I wholeheartedly recommend both of these books.

Excellent reference
I started reading this book in the Fall of 2002. Following the author's advice, I relaxed and started to have fun with the whole dating process. I went out and met a bunch of people, and started dating more. The tips I learned in this book had a lot to do with my happiness today. My communication is better, I'm more relaxed, and after reading it, I was able to enjoy dating instead of being nervous every time I met someone new. In talking to people, this book gave me a good handle on how to approach difficult topics, which takes a lot of the stress out of getting to know someone. In June 2003, I met an amazing man, and I wasn't nervous or uneasy about getting to know him. Before I knew it, we went on vacation together. We got engaged after only 6 months of dating because we had such incredible communication. We are now married and expecting our first child. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to take charge and enjoy their love life instead of waiting for Ms./Mr. Right to drop out of the sky.
